AND
The audience….. listen to the audience…… They are shouting as if they were at an average death-metal-concert. They are applauding as if there is no tomorrow. So the musicians play at their best.

Recorded live at Manny’s Tavern, New Orleans by Herbert Otto.
Yeah, that’s another great recording by Herbert Otto (the one from the party) and it’s very nice.
A highlight of this record is “All the girls go crazy”. Man, that’s what I call ‘collective improvisation’.

The New Orleans drummer Baby Dodds explains and introduces some rhythms, then talking about the life in New Orleans and so on.
Very nice and educational must-have, especially for drummers.

Yeah, man, what shall I say?
This is the perfect example of the results of alcohol and marijuana. In the beginning, at the first tracks, most of them were sober, at the last tracks absolutley none. The result is track 14: “If you’re a viper”, sung by Herb (Nomen est Omen?) Morand. Also don’t miss the booklet with a nice photo of Lawrence Marrero and “Slow Drag” Alcide Pavageau, both completely stoned. The photos say everything.
Some remarkable gospels were sung by drummer Joe Watkins and trumpeter Elmer Talbert. Perfect Party-Music!
Sex and Drugs and New Orleans!
This really gets you out of ja Jazz-Crisis!
